Whimper Harry whimpered, then he tensed up as Severus approached him from behind. He was going to kill his best friend for getting him into these predicaments. He, Ron, and Draco had been out in the Forbidden Forest patrolling the perimeter, when Ron thought he saw something. Oh, he saw something alright. It was a giant magical version of a porcupine. One of Hagrid's pets. Harry and Draco turned away at the wrong moment. Thank the Gods, it wasn't poisonous. But hurt like hell! Ron was going to pay. Severus plucked another needle out of his backside. "Potter, the things you get yourself into." "Not my fault, Severus." "So you say." "Ron is going to die." "Not if I get to him first!" Draco yelled from the other side of the infirmary.

Sev, just come back to bed," Harry muttered sleepily. But the young man knew that sleep would elude him tonight. So he threw back the covers and padded over to the figure sitting in the window seat of their room dragging a small blanket with him. "Budge over love and let me sit." With a grunt and groan, Harry was sitting encircled within Severus' arms.
"The full moon is only two days away, Severus. It won't do you much good to worry so much. We will cross that bridge when it comes. And I'll be with you every step of the way."
"My life will change."
"Yes. And if you don't transform, like Bill, you'll have heightened senses of the Wolf."
Severus still remained quiet.
"I will never leave you."
The strong arms only grew tighter around the smaller man.

pqpqpqpq Draco's mood went from bad to worse as the day wore on. He woke up to an empty bed and missing husband. Then he remembered. His birthday was also the day The Dark Lord was defeated. Everyone had places to be and be seen.All for the good of the Wizarding public. They wanted to see their Heroes. Only he wasn't. He was a marked Death Eater who spied for the light. Behind his back, they whispered other things. A traitor. A coward. He knew Severus had a speech to make at Diagon Alley. Harry was speaking at Hogwarts. Hermione was speaking at St. Mungos and Ron was doing something at a Quidditch match. This afternoon, Remus and others would be gathering at the battlefield to read the names of the dead. Those lost to the war. Why would anyone remember a birthday when those you loved died for something they believed in. All Draco wanted to do was pull the covers over his head and forget about rest of the day.... and not crawl out of bed till the next morning. But he promised Remus. And he would never willingly break a promise to his husband. The only bright light in his world, Draco thought as he pushed the covers back so he could start the day and get it over with. .:*:. "Can we go home now, Remus?" Draco asked, his arm linked with his lover's. He was so tired of it all. People crying and telling stories of their part in the battle. What brave things they'd done. What Death Eater's they killed or captured. Thrones that got away. He saw the looks he garnered. "We can floo back from Severus and Harry's rooms." As they stepped through the darken doorway after whispering the password, they were greeted by a shouted, "SURPRISE!" The torches came to life and filled the room with welcoming light. A room full of people that they just left in the Great Hall. In the center of the room sat a birthday cake. Draco felt tears come to his eyes. "I would never forget, Love." Remus lightly kissed his very surprised husband. "Happy Birthday, Draco." Albus Dumbledore came forward with the current Minister of Magic, Arthur Weasley. "Mr. Draco Malfoy-Lupin. We would like to award one of the highest honors given to a witch or wizard. The Order of Merlin. First class." Arthur stepped forward. "I realize this is little late,Draco.....Your sacrifice and bravery during the trying times of the past war DID NOT go unnoticed. Words are not enough to convey what you have gone through, but know we, the people in this room are the only ones who truly understand what you did." Arthur placed the medal around the blond man's neck. "Congratulations, Draco." "Thank you," Draco whispered. "Happy Birthday, Draco!!!" Ron Weasley shouted. "Hear! Hear!" "Happy Birthday, Draco!" echoed around the room. Looking around the room seeing the trust he worked so hard to earn and the man beside him, the love that Remus held for him. "Thank you." "Cake!" "Honestly, Ron, can't you think of something other than your stomach?" "Quidditch?" Friends and family. What more could he ask for? Oh yeah, Draco almost forgot, "Remus?" "Yes?" "Remember that appointment I had with Poppy?" "Yes?" Draco took Remus' hands in his own and placed them on his stomach. "I'm pregnant, Remus." Remus' hands shook. A new life. A new beginning. That's what the war meant.More birthdays to be shared with loved ones. Bringing new life into a world filled with peace. Oh the world wasn't perfect, but looking at Draco and his smile, it was damn near close to it. Finis.....but is it ever?.:*:. please review.. :)

dbdbdbdbdb Runaway groom. It had to be a joke. But it wasn't. This past week had gone from frantic worry to terrifying to a joke. Harry Potter's life had turned into a joke. Harry sat at the table, his hands wrapped around the coffee cup. His world had been turned upside down....again. If he wasn't so tired and heartbroken, Harry would have packed everything and disappeared.Telling the whole to go to hell. Abandoned and alone, Harry felt the whole world hated him at that moment. Why couldn't he find someone to love HIM. Accept harry Potter for who he was. A man searching for the perfect lover. To watch over him while he slept. Hold him when the nightmares came and rock his foundations to the core. Stand beside him when the world turned on him. Lean on him when the tough got to rough to handle. Just be there when we need them the most... or just because they loved him. He thought he had that with Ron. But Ron ran, letting everyone think he was abducted by rogue Death Eaters out for revenge against Harry. But that was all a lie. Ron couldn't take the heat and ran just days before he and Harry were to bond. Ginny had been by earlier in the morning. "Buck it up, Harry! There's more fish in the sea," she said as she leaned in to kiss and grope him at the same time. With a wave of his hand, Ginny found herself outside, on her arse, cursing his name. Hermione had held him while he cried last night. Told him things had a way of working out in the end. How? When Harry was always expected to be strong. Stand alone in the storm. Carry the burdens of the world. Harry closed his eyes as the memories of the last few months passed before him. Severus telling him that no one would except him in Harry's life.That their love wasn't strong enough. Running to the Burrow where Ron Weasley listened as he ranted and raged at the world around him. Then as the months moved on, Ron and he became closer, lovers and then Ron asking Harry to bond with him. Molly taking over the planning and turning it into a circus of major proportions. But Ron shouldn't have run if he loved Harry, right? "Harry?" Green eyes looked up and met deep pools of black. "Severus?" "No more, Harry. I let you go once because I thought it was the right thing to do. That you deserved better. " "I only wanted you, Severus. Only you." "Do you still love me?" Harry knew the answer. He was willing to bond with Ron because he thought that no one else wanted him when really all he wanted was Severus."Yes, I still love you. You great bat!" "And I you." Severus, in his all his glory, stepped away from the doorway in the arms of the only man he loved. There would be no more runaway grooms in this life.
